Anthony M. Berson, MD, is the Chairman of the Department of Radiation Oncology at St. Vincent's Comprehensive Cancer Center (SVCCC) in New York City. A board certified radiation oncologist, Dr. Berson has been at SVCCC since 1995. Dr. Berson has a specialty in lung, breast and prostate cancers.
Dr. Berson was recently included in the 2005 edition of Who's Who in America and was named to the Castle Connolly Best Doctors in 2006 list. He is currently an associate professor of clinical radiation medicine at New York Medical College.
Dr. Berson has been published in numerous medical journals including International Journal of Radiation Oncology and Biological Physics, Ophthalmology, and American Journal of Clinical Oncology. He has also authored chapters in several books, most recently Breast Cancer 2nd Edition, and has presented his research at various conferences and meetings across the country. Dr. Berson is a member of numerous professional organizations including the American College of Radiology, New York Roentgen Society, American Association of Cancer Research and Metropolitan Breast Cancer Society.
Dr. Berson attended Hahnemann University Medical School, Philadelphia. He received his undergraduate degree cum laude from the University of California, San Diego in bio-engineering. Dr. Berson completed an internship at Mount Zion Hospital in San Francisco and later his residency in radiation oncology at the University of California, San Francisco.
